Art Van creates 'world's tallest stack of mattresses' to break Guinness World Record

WARREN, MI - What happens if you stack up enough mattresses? At Art Van Furniture they created a stack tall enough to break a Guinness World Record.

As you stack mattresses, they move. The current record is 13.5 feet and the Art Van team was hoping to exceed that Friday morning.

A team of workers and a few hi-los were used to move and stack mattresses inside Art Van's warehouse in Warren. The goal of the team was to reach 14.5 feet. They met that goal!

Art Van says they used king size King Koil mattresses for their world record attempt.

According to Guinness World Records , the previous record was set last October when 12 Sealy mattresses were stacked at the Texas State Fair, next to Big Tex, a 52-foot tall talking mannequin.
