It’s a heavily sweetened spirit with a spicy cinnamon kick. It’s Fireball Cinnamon Whisky, and the only thing spicier than its taste is its rapidly growing sales – relying mainly on untraditional liqueur advertising.
This sizzling whiskey has constituted 6.8 percent of all bar tabs this year, making it one of the most popular liqueurs at bars and restaurants, according to Huff Post .
Fireball’s booming popularity came from a strong reliance on social media and engagements with bar employees to increase brand awareness of the alcohol.
Bar manager Nick Mitchell told Huff Post, “It’s scary how much people love this product.”
