PHOENIX - A 17-year-old Boy Scout from the San Francisco area was reportedly denied his Eagle Scout award because he is gay, according to a report.

Yahoo.com said Ryan Andresen has completed all of the requirements, including completing an extensive service project, to receive the award, but his troop leader refused him the honor.

Andresen reportedly claims the troop leader knew about his sexual orientation before the project and that he was told they would "get by" it.

Yahoo reports the troop leader had not responded with a comment on the issue as of Thursday night. Read the article.
