PHOENIX - It isn’t always the big events that make us turn our head when we hear about politicians, celebrities and athletes.

Sometimes, we just want to know that when you boil it down, they’re all ordinary people like us.

What's in their fridge? What are they reading? What do they do in their off time?

Each Tuesday, ABC15.com is asking the same 10 questions of a newsmaker.

But don't jump to any conclusions these aren't the typical interview questions.

They are not meant to be probing or controversial. Instead, they're fun questions that let you get to know the person – in ways you probably don’t already.

This week, we're getting to know Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard.

In 2003, Goddard took the oath of office as Attorney General.  He touts compiling an unprecedented record of successful criminal prosecutions and civil settlements. Cases that include; border protection, consumer protection, leading the fight against methamphetamines.

Goddard is not only serving as the state's top lawyer, he is now on the campaign trail, working to become Arizona's next governor.  The Democratic nominee is aggressively challenging GOP nominee Gov. Jan Brewer.

Goddard's father, Sam Goddard, served as Arizona’s Governor in the 1960s.

Terry Goddard received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University and his law degree from Arizona State University. He served an active duty tour in the U.S. Navy and retired as a Commander after 27 years in the Naval Reserves.

Goddard and his wife, Monica, have one son and he considers her one of his mentors.  Read more...

1. What is your all-time favorite movie or song?

Return of the Jedi

2. Do you have a Smartphone? If so, what's your favorite app?

No.

3. Who do you count as your mentor(s)?

My father and mother, Burt Barr and my wife.

4. What was your very first job?

Sailor, US Navy.

5. If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?

More hair, more patience and many more long weekends.

6. What do you consider your greatest success?

The Western Union settlement in February which brings new data to use in the war against border smuggling and $50 million to assist state and local law enforcement fight border crime.

7. Tell us something about you most people don’t know?

I am a Navy veteran, 27 years with Naval Reserve.

8. If you could have dinner with any three people, living or dead, who would they be?

Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt (assuming Jesus, Socrates and Lao Tzu are engaged in more important activity).

9. What is in your fridge/freezer right now?

Tuna noodle casserole, some great ice-cream and beer.

10. If you could have a different career, other then what you’re doing now, what would it be?

Governor of Arizona.
