PHOENIX - Indeed.com said it’s seeing the strongest evidence yet of an improving job market. The company found a notable increase in job posts in May for health care, transportation and hospitality industries. The website said May 2010 is the first time it has seen positive grown in all sectors since it launched its Industry Employment Trends report in February 2009.
Indeed.com and SimplyHired.com posted listings of the top companies hiring in the Valley right now. Here are just 10 of them:
Best Buy stores wanted to fill a variety of positions including supervisors, sales, delivery drivers, cashiers, merchandising and inventory. Phoenix, Mesa, Glendale, Gilbert, Casa Grande, Chandler and Goodyear were just some of the locations looking for applications.
JPMorgan Chase had a large number of jobs open in the Phoenix area. They included personal bankers, associates, financial advisors, tellers and loan officers. No matter where you live, locations for the positions were spread across the Valley including Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa, Scottsdale, Glendale, Gilbert, Chandler, Prescott, Fountain Hills, Sun City, Surprise, Payson, Peoria and Maricopa.
Starwood Hotels needed employees who could make guests feel comfortable when visiting this summer. Several of the jobs listed were front desk agents, pool attendants, concierge, sales manager, supervisors and room attendants. The positions were offered in Scottsdale, Phoenix and Chandler.
Pet lovers were needed at PETCO stores. A wide range of jobs were available including team leaders, dog trainers, sales associates, pet stylists and grooming assistants. Management positions were also offered. Candidates could apply at numerous stores including Phoenix, Mesa, Glendale, Gilbert, Chandler, Fountain Hills, Avondale, Scottsdale, Goodyear, Queen Creek and Peoria.
Intel offered numerous jobs in Phoenix. They included engineers from different fields including hardware, performance, component design, reliability and service desk. Most of the jobs were full-time positions, but part-time jobs, temporary jobs and internships were also offered.
IBM in Phoenix listed more than a hundred jobs that the company was looking to fill. Most of the positions were solution representatives. They also included sales specialists, software developers and business analysts.
US Airways had dozens of open positions. Analysts, human resources, administrators and managers were just some of the jobs the company was looking to fill. Most of them were full-time positions.
Home Depot stores are looking for people with a passion for home improvement. They have a variety of jobs throughout central Arizona including freight team associates, sales, cashiers and outside sales consultants. Phoenix, Chandler, Payson, Peoria, Queen Creek, Surprise, Laveen, Casa Grande, Tempe and Scottsdale were some of the locations needing applications.
Go Daddy was advertising for dozens of new open positions. They included graphic designers, engineers, architects, database security analysts, business analysts, software developers and senior sales managers. Phoenix, Gilbert, Scottsdale and Tempe were just some of the locations where the jobs were offered.
American Express had several positions open at its Phoenix location. Lead programmer analysts and lead technical architects were in highest demand.
