PHOENIX - Looking for a fun way to spend the weekend without spending any cash?
The Fifth Annual Carefree Christmas Festival in downtown Carefree starts Friday and goes until Sunday, December 9.
This three-day holiday event of festivities is free to everyone!
They will have live music, tons of fake snow and even carolers. Plus on Saturday, December 8 at 6 p.m. is the electric light parade. If you decide to go to the event on Sunday you can see the pet parade, so there are plenty of fun options for the whole family!

Sunday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Christmas time in the Valley means tamale time!
If you love tamales then you want to head over to The Food City Tamale Event . It will be at the Cesar Chavez plaza, located at First Avenue and Washington Street in downtown Phoenix, and is free to the public.
The festival starts on Saturday, December 8 and goes until Sunday, December 9. Both days are from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. You'll be able to sample and buy some tamales, plus you can enjoy music, arts and crafts, and carnival rides plus dancers.
If you stick around on Sunday at 2 p.m., they will have a best-tasting tamale contest and I will be there to help judge this event!
There are tons of other free things to do in the Valley this time of the year! Get out and enjoy the beautiful weather by taking a walk or a hike -- great for you and your wallet!
