Smart Shopper: Where to find the best grocery store deals

I have some great ways to save money on food this week.

I did the research and now I am going to share with you some of the deals you will find at Valley grocery stores.

Safeway

Make sure you are eating your daily dose of vegetables. Safeway is making it easier. They have asparagus on sale for $.97 a pound. Grab some Chobani Greek yogurt; Safeway has 6 ounce containers on sale for just $1, normally you would pay $1.99 each. Have a sandwich for lunch, because Safeway has a buy one get one free on Orowheat breads. One loaf would cost you $4 or more, so it's a good deal.

FoodCity

Buy some tomatoes for an awesome price! Food City has four pounds of large tomatoes for just $.96. Get your vitamin C, because Food City has six pounds of Navel oranges for just $.96 per pound! That’s an incredible price, but you can only buy six pounds for that price. Get some protein for a good deal. Food City also has chicken drumsticks or thighs for just $.67 a pound and you can buy up to two packs for that price. If you plan on doing your shopping on Wednesday, you will be able to buy four pounds of bananas for just $.96. You can purchase up to 8 pounds for that rocking price. Or, try four red bell peppers at Food City for just $.96 per pound; you can buy up to eight for that price. Also on Wednesday, Food City will be selling a 10 pound bags of potatoes for $1.50; and you can buy four bags for that price.  

Albertsons

Stop in at Albertsons this week and buy up to two gallons of milk for $1.57 per gallon. You can have some cereal with that milk too for a great price. Albertsons has Post Honey Bunches of Oats or Kellogg’s Pop Tarts for $1.99 each.

Fry's

Shop at Fry's this week and get a deal on quenching your thirst. If you buy 10 participating drink items, like PowerAde, Vitamin Water, and Smart Water you will get five more for free. Fry's is also celebrating its 100th year birthday in Arizona, which is on February 14th. You can buy a dozen eggs for the current price of $1.70 and get the second for $.26. There are many of those deals through their ads this week, so look for them and save. While you are at Fry’s buy some boneless skinless chicken breasts for $1.87 a pound and you can buy two packs for that price. Fry’s also has asparagus on sale for $1 a pound.

Bashas’

Bashas’ shoppers, buy select varieties of General Mills cereal for $1.99 each. If you are in the mood for a burger you can get ground chuck at Bashas’ this week for $2.49 per pound with a two pack limit. Make a sandwich for a great price. Bashas’ has Nature’s Own bread on sale for $1.99 per loaf.

Now you have no excuses not to save on your grocery bill this week.

To really maximize your savings make sure to clip and print coupons and make a list and stick with it so you don't buy anything impulsively.
