Have fun at a festival, enjoy ice cream and a book, or learn to plant for free in the Valley this weekend.
Book and ice cream cone at McDonald's
McDonald's will be hosting Family Literacy day on Saturday, November 3rd starting at 1 pm.
The first 100 parents to show up with their kids from the age of kindergarten to 6th grade at any Valley McDonald's will get to pick out a free book and get a free ice cream cone.
This freebie does not include any McDonald's located inside a Wal- Mart or mall locations.
Festival at Civic Space Park
You can enjoy listening to exotic music, storytelling and craft making all for free at the Arizona Humanities Festival: American Jukebox event.
This is happening on Saturday, November 3rd at the Civic Space Park in downtown Phoenix. This event is free and starts at 10am until 4pm.
They will have stages filled with performers like Pick and Holler, Dessert Mountain Brass, Mariachi Fuego Del Sol and several others to entertain your listening ears.
Plus there are art projects from the Phoenix Center for the Arts, musical craft making and you can even have your photo taken with props they are providing.
They suggest you bring a lunch to eat while there, but you can also score some snacks like kettle corn, cotton candy and snow cones all for free, too.

Learn to plant
You can learn all about planting fruit trees in the Valley for free. The class is on Saturday, November 3rd from 8:30 am until 10 am.
It is a free class given by Greg Peterson, who is with the group called Root Phoenix. All you have to do is sign up ahead of time on their website.
The class will be located near 12th street and Glendale.
Plus, if you are thinking about starting a garden you can download a free planting chart that covers what things to plant and when for our environment here in Arizona.
Just head to Urbanfarm.org . All you have to do is sign up and then you can download that planting calendar for free.
