PHOENIX - If you are hungry and are searching for a good deal on food in the Valley, your smartphone can help.

I did some research and found some of the top apps for finding a deal on all sorts of food faster.

Foodspotting

If you don't know exactly what you want, sometimes pictures can help you make up your mind.

The Foodspotting app will definitely get your taste buds excited because people share photos of food they eat, and then upload it to the app to let you know exactly what to expect.

There is also a specials tab that helps you find good deals.

The food spotting app is available for smartphones and it's free.

Bitehunter

If bargains are your priority then try the free Bitehunter app.

The app shows you all of the restaurant offers from daily deal sites and puts them on a map.

It's a great way to save, but know that once you buy a deal expect emails from the deal site.

The Bitehunter app is only good for the iPad and iPhone.

Eat Street

Another free app for the iPhone and iPad is called Eat Street.

This app actually helps you find the best food trucks in your area.

It gives you locations for food carts and mobile trucks, along with menus and specials.

But I’d be careful with this one. If you find food you want to try, call to make sure the truck hasn't moved.

Yelp

Finally one of my favorite food apps is Yelp.

You can search by food type, price range, or even area.

If you check in to some businesses, you will get a deal.

Yelp is free and available on smartphones.

If you have a favorite app that helps you find good deals on food... I want to know about it.
