I love to cook and eat, but I hate washing the dirt and stains left on those pans after cooking.
If you have one of those pans that you have used forever and the stains and burnt on grease just keep building up, and no matter how hard you scrub the pan still looks dirty, I may have a solution for you.
The blog was for a “Miracle” cleaner. The cleaner has two ingredients baking soda and peroxide. According to the blog, using these two ingredients will allow you to get that super burnt on grease pan pretty clean. So of course I had to try it.
The Miracle recipe was simple to make, just take ¼ cup of baking soda and put it in a bowl then mix peroxide in until you make a paste. Then take the pan you want to clean and put the pasta on the stains. Let it sit for two hours (or more) and then you should be able to simply scrub off the stains with some warm water and a sponge. I started this process early this morning. I had done a lot of baking this weekend so I had the perfect pan in mind to try it on.
I made the Miracle cleaner and pasted it on half of the pan. I let it sit until it was time to go to work. I decided to leave the cleaner on the pan and drove with it to work.
Once I got to work I let sit for about another hour. So total time was two-and-a-half hours, and then I took a sponge and scrubbed the pan with the abrasive side of sponge and did see an improvement. Not dramatic, but a change.
So I decided to try it again. I did the same thing put the cleaner on pan and this time it sat for three-and-a-half hours. Then I scrubbed hard to get more stains and baked on grease off again. There was more of an improvement, but the pan still had stains on it.
I scrubbed hard to the point my hands started hurting. So at this point I rinsed it off and decided it was time to throw out this pan and get a new one. So the cleaner worked, but it did not work as easy as it did for the lady who wrote the blog.
This time when I go buy a new baking pan I am going to just lay foil down every time I need to bake something and then can avoid the whole messy situation.
