When your alarm clock goes off in the morning, do you just want to yell at it to stop?

Well, there is a clock that might actually listen. It's called the Moshi Voice Control Travel Alarm Clock , and you can tell it what to do.

The claim is the clock will respond to nine voice commands. These commands include telling you the time, temperature, and the best of all is snoozing.

But will it work? Let me try it before you buy it.

The clock comes in four different colors: pink, blue, white and black. The company sent us a pink one.

So, how does it work?

First it needs three AAA batteries that we purchased separately. Once you install them, you're ready to start giving commands.

The instructions say to simply press the IVR button on the top of the clock and give your command. We told it to set the time, so far so good. Then we gave the clock a verbal command to set the alarm, again no problem.

We had the alarm go off, and here's the test: snooze.

You can turn the alarm on and off with a command or by pressing a button.

We tried the Moshi Voice Control Travel Alarm for a few months, and during that time it did everything it was supposed to do. The clock easily understood my commands.

But don't mess up and hit the wrong button when you're trying to snooze. We hit the wrong button several times and instead of going back to sleep, the voice on the alarm kept us up which was annoying, but it did the job.

So how would I rate the talking clock?

The company sent it to us to try out, but I found it online for sale at Moshi’s website for $24.99.

The alarm clock worked well overall, the only problem we had was when we set the time or alarm for an offbeat number like 7:17 a.m. or 5:44 p.m. we would have to say the time again but a little slower. Still, it performed well.

So, based on the results, I give it a thumbs up on performance.

On a side note, for those of you who have a hard time figuring out how to work your clock, it's a good buy. But if the objective is simply a small alarm clock that you can use at home or away, you can find one for less than $10 if you just need a basic no-frills alarm clock.

I have to give it a thumbs up for working the way it should, but for cost of meeting the objective of simply waking you up, there are a lot less expensive alternatives.
