Cook without oil? Yoshi Blue pan put to the test

Wouldn't it be nice to be able to cook without using oils and butter and still not have your food stick to the pan?

Well the makers of the Yoshi Blue pan claim their "Diamondware" ceramic nonstick pan will solve that problem, but will it?

Let me try it before you buy it.

The claim in the infomercial and on the packaging of the pan is that you don’t need oil, fat or grease when cooking with the Yoshi Blue pan.

But right away we notice contradictions because the instructions say the complete opposite. It says to “always apply a small amount of cooking oil before you start cooking." So which is it?

We decided to cook with both methods.

We tried the Yoshi Blue pan for about three weeks on all sorts of food including eggs, pancakes, cheese, rice, and potatoes.

The food really didn’t stick with and without the oil.

But there’s another contradiction.

On the site, it says the pan won't chip.

But when reading the instructions, it says to avoid metal utensils to prevent scratching or chipping.

And yet another contradiction between the website and instructions, the site says cleanup is supposed to be a breeze, that it’s as simple as wiping the pan clean with a paper towel.

But the instructions say to soak the pan in warm water.

Overall, the pan didn’t live up to all of its claims. After just three weeks, the pan had already chipped.

Also, according to the instructions, you’re supposed to use oil each time you use the pan if you don’t want to ruin the surface. It seems that defeats the purpose, since using a regular pan with oil usually prevents food from sticking.

Another solution... Try the Orgreenic pan. It performed much better in my opinion.

After nearly 10 months, the Orgreenic pan is still performing well, but I’d suggest buying the pan at a store since there have been complaints with their website.
