The event has gotten so big that for the last few years they've had to bring in a police presence to put up barricades and then a street cleaning crew for, of course, all the leftover guts.

These days, it seems zombies are everywhere. And for the most part, they're fun, if just a little bit scary.

But a new report says the ones you really need to watch for these days are zombie subscriptions.

Zombies Hit Bank Accounts

The AMC series The Walking Dead, and a number of imitators, have turned zombies into an a part of our daily lives.

But the zombie apocalypse is not just on your TV anymore. It can hit your bank account and credit card if you're not careful.

Yahoo Finance says anytime you cancel a magazine subscription, gym membership, other other recurring charge, you need to check your credit card statement for months afterward.

The report says 1 in 4 people are hit with "zombie renewals." Just when you thought that gym membership was done, it rises from the grave to hit your credit card again.

Doesn't That Stink?

And from the " doesn't that stink" file, the worst zombie renewals: magazine subscriptions that wont end. Long after you stop a magazine, many will keep hounding you with bills.

Some will start up again a year later, as if you had never canceled. Doesn't that stink?

That's why it's best to pay for magazines with a check, instead of giving those zombies a credit or debit card.

That way you catch those zombies and you don't waste your money.
