A lot of you have strong feelings about your Homeowners' Associations, judging by emails sent to the ABC15 Investigators.

Many of the concerns involve a belief that some HOAs are too restrictive.

One Maricopa family is especially concerned about how their HOA is regulating parking.

The Jones family of Maricopa has four cars and a tough time parking.

A couple of times, they had the driveway full and ended up parking a car on the street in front of their house.

But the HOA didn't like that, and sent the family a letter saying parking is only allowed in the driveway.

The HOA states the parking rule is to keep a "well-maintained community with enhanced property values."

That's hard to argue.

But, the Jones' argument is the HOA doesn't govern the streets since they are regulated by the city.

Now, the Arizona legislature is looking at regulating HOAs' control of parking if they do not own the streets.

A bill by Republican Rep. John Kavanagh would stop those HOAs from regulating street parking if they don't allow two cars to be parked in the driveway.

It may help some, but the Jones have too many cars and want more done.

There are other HOA bills being proposed.

Go to the A rizona Legislature website to see all of the proposed bills and how to contact your legislator about them.
