I get these complaints every week. The checks look real, they use real business names, but they are all scams.
You deposit the check, it appears to be good. The scammers ask you to send part of the money back, then the bank tells you it bounced. I've seen banks close accounts after this.
No matter how tempting, don't bite... tear it up..
