There are hundreds of golf communities across the state of Arizona, but not all are created equally. If your dream is to enjoy world class golf courses with amenities galore in a picturesque setting, the field gets narrowed substantially.
My children aspire to be pro golfers. My husband and I attend the Masters and many other golf tournaments all throughout the year. As a Realtor® for more than 14 years in Arizona, I’ve seen many golf homes & have made it a point to visit every single golf community in the state. I feel this gives me a unique and informed perspective into what makes a great golf community.
Desert Mountain is beautifully situated on over 8,000 acres of gorgeous high Sonoran Desert that is tucked away into the rolling hills and dramatic scenery of North Scottsdale, Arizona. Desert Mountain is still the only private golf community in the world to offer six “Jack Nicklaus Signature” golf courses. But great golf is just the beginning…there are a wide variety of amenities for every member of the family from tennis to cooking classes, there is something for everyone!
The Robb Report has named Desert Mountain as one of the “Best Golf Communities in the World”. Desert Mountain is the only community in the world that features six Jack Nicklaus signature golf courses. In addition, the six themed, award-winning clubhouses, restaurants, fitness and tennis center, pools, remaining undeveloped property and golf and club memberships are all now controlled by the members.
Angie Johnson is a member of Desert Mountain and says, “it’s a dynamic time for Desert Mountain and its members who are proud to be a part of the community and are committed to making it the standard for luxury living at its best”. The new equestrian facilities that will include corrals, a stable and riding arena; hiking and mountain biking trails; an outdoor gathering spot for festivals, art shows and photography classes; picnic facilities and a concert amphitheater are only a few examples of the luxury amenities available to members of Desert Mountain’s Private Club. The Boulders, Carefree, AZ
The Boulders in Carefree is one of the first standout luxury residential golf developments in the nation. You may be surprised to learn that the developers at the Boulders made a big mistake 30 years ago that has greatly benefited homeowners. They painted themselves into a legal corner of limited master plan development, and the result is far less homes than would be the norm if this 1300-acre resort community were built today.
The Boulders is also home to a luxury resort whose amenities, from fine dining to the Red Door Spa, are available to homeowners, and there is even has an entire village, El Pedregal, full of shops, galleries, more restaurants, and a museum on site. The Boulders sits in one of the most beautiful locations in all of
Arizona, the Sonoran foothills. As a member of the Boulders Golf Club you are amidst a vast desert landscape of saguaro cacti, palo verde trees, and the namesake towering boulder formations, and the architecture is distinctive and singular, like something out of the Flintstones. The two gorgeous desert courses by highly regarded designer Jay Morrish are superb. Everyone from AAA (5 Diamonds) to Travel & Leisure (World’s Best) to Golf Magazine (Gold Medal Resort) has sung the praises of the Boulders. It also enjoys one of the best wintertime climates in the nation. For more information contact, (480) 570-5500
