PHOENIX - As the heat of the summer months pass, we look forward to cooler temperatures and shorter days.
Take this time to enjoy the change of seasons with a restorative posture to relax and stretch you in preparation of busy times to come.
Matthew Fritz, owner of SuTRA Midtown Yoga, shows you how to unwind in just minutes with a beneficial yoga pose.
Reclining Angle Pose (Supta Baddha Konasana)
A restorative yoga pose, also known as the Goddess Pose, that stretches the thighs, knees, pelvis, and hips in a resting position.
With the use of simple household blankets or pillows, this pose can easily be done in the home to support the body and offer its benefits to everyone at any level of fitness.
This fabulous meditative pose can assist with lower back pain and tight hamstrings, as it removes pressure from the lumbar spine and repositions the hips.
It also helps to release tension, and provides women relief from menstruatual and menopausal symptoms.
