PHOENIX - Although money is tight these days, you don’t always have to settle for a staycation.

U.S. News released its list of the most affordable locations in America to visit, so it may soon be time for you to pack your bags.

Here are the top 5:

No. 5: Washington, DC

From its iconic monuments to its historic neighborhoods and free museums, the capital of the United States offers an unforgettable trip into our nation’s history.

No. 4: Nashville, Tennessee

Whether you immerse yourself in country music or dive into some mouth-watering barbecue, Nashville offers some of the lowest hotel prices in the South and is sure to be a laid back getaway filled with some down-home fun.

No. 3: Savannah, Georgia

Founded in 1733, a trip to Savannah will take you back in time to the 18th and 19th centuries.  With picturesque historic architecture, Spanish-moss-swathed garden squares and a cobbled waterfront on the Savannah River lined with old cotton warehouses, a trip into yesteryear awaits you for a low price.

No. 2: Yellowstone Park

Home to breathtaking hiking trails, erupting hot springs and roaming wildlife, the entrance fee is a small price to pay for a walk through America’s oldest national park.

No. 1: Yosemite National Park

This park might just be one of the world’s most dramatic geological spectacles. With near-vertical 3,000-foot cliffs, elegant waterfalls and grassy meadows, the breathtaking scenery is the ultimate way to escape the hustle and bustle of life.

If you don’t want to venture far from home, Las Vegas is No. 10 on the list but I guess that depends on how much money you drop on the blackjack table. Safe travels!
