MacAlpine's Restaurant and Soda Fountain has been serving up tradition with homemade delights for over eighty years in a comfortable one of a kind atmosphere with antiques, vintage clothing and collectables.

It's hard to image a time when Phoenix was dirt roads, farmland, and air conditioning meant a sheet soaked with water, hung up and let the desert winds try to cool you down. Those are days gone but MacAlpine's in the Coronado neighborhood is still around.

MacAlpine's creates a classic atmosphere with an antique store that sells collectables to furniture from the 1940's to the 1970's. The vintage clothing shop does the same with men's and women's apparel from sharp looking suits to glamorous dresses and hats. All this with a menu that serves up Americana such as hamburgers to egg salad sandwiches. Scooped and poured with over 99 flavors of sodas, egg creams, and phosphates. Thrifty ice cream creates aaaa inspired treats such as milkshakes, sundaes, banana slits, and special creamy creations designed by the staff.

You can easily lose yourself in all the history of  MacAlpine's from all the famous people who have had a meal here to the original soda fountain with all its stories to the friendly hellos from the staff that dress the part of days gone by.

MacAlpine's Soda Fountain reminds us to slow down, talk with someone you just met, and enjoy a piece of history that seems to stand still.
