October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and places that help victims want to make sure people know they have a place to turn to for help.
The Sojourner Center has protected victims of domestic violence for more than 35 years, but recent government funding cuts have forced the center to find other ways to raise money to keep enough beds available to help victims.
The Sojourner Center is having its 11th Annual Hope Luncheon at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and Spa on Nov. 8 from noon to 1 p.m.
