New center takes wellness to a new level through a customized program based on an individual's high-performance drivers in all areas of life.

When it comes to maintaining good health, most people don't think beyond exercising and eating right. But what if an individual's wellness journey started by asking a bigger question: Why am I here?
That's the premise behind TriVita's comprehensive new wellness center, which helps people identify their individual strengths and discover ways to improve not only their physical health, but also their emotional and spiritual well-being.
The 13,500-square-foot center, which opens today next to TriVita's global headquarters, is staffed by a team of health professionals and features everything from doctor's offices and nutritional counseling to specialized health tests and deep meditative relaxation in egg-shaped "alpha chairs."
"Our goal is to guide people in finding their sense of purpose and arm them with tools to optimize their wellness," said Michael Ellison, founder and CEO of TriVita.
TriVita's wellness experience reaches beyond traditional wellness programs by looking at the drivers of high performance in all areas of life, according to Dr. Harolyn Gilles, the wellness center physician. "Based on our findings, we customize a program that best meets our clients' individual needs," she said.
TriVita's wellness program is built upon a four-step process: assessment, education, coaching and reassessment.
The assessment focuses on quality-of-life and self-evaluations, a review of health risks, diet, nutrition, exercise, and spiritual wellness. The results are then used to formulate a plan of action that serves as a roadmap for the second, or educational step, in the program.
During this phase, individuals coordinate medical and behavioral care, along with other support services. They also initiate diet and nutritional planning, exercise and fitness training, and specialized classes, lectures and seminars in key focus areas.
"All of these elements are integrated together as part of our approach to whole health," Dr. Gilles said.
A personal health coach provides ongoing support to help clients achieve their goals and progress is measured by a comparative analysis of all assessments based on biomarkers, milestones and the participant's goals.
The wellness center is a realization of Ellison's vision following his own health challenges and will serve as a prototype for similar TriVita facilities in other parts of the world.
