Residence Club
The Residence Club SM
At Spectrum Retirement Communities
Spectrum Retirement Communities understands the unique challenges of caring for individuals with Alzheimer's disease and other memory loss issues. The Path to the Present is Spectrum's comprehensive memory care program that caters to the needs of these residents and their families. However, not everyone needs the same level of support.
As a part of the Path to the Present program, Spectrum now offers The Residence Club, to support
individuals with mild memory loss or confusion as an alternative to our more advanced memory care
program.
Approximately 25 percent of our assisted living residents live with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) - a
condition that affects memory but does not affect the ability to complete daily tasks. These individuals
typically have not difficulty thinking, carrying on conversations or participating in activities. They do,
however, tend to be forgetful, and have difficulty completely task that involve multiple steps. This
short-term memory loss begins to interfere with daily routines and can negatively affect an individual's
sense of self. This often causes the person to withdraw from social situations, resulting in isolation and
depression.
At Spectrum, we believe that many residents who currently live in a traditional memory care setting
could flourish in a less-restrictive environment. A unique and stimulating program The Residence Club
SM addresses that need by supporting independence and helping to maintain normal daily activities. This
allows an individual to maintain self-confidence and dignity while living independently within a caring
environment.
