Halloween how-tos you can make at home

Something wicked this way comes!.....It's Girl Friday and her favorite time of year! I love this time of year, a time to get ready for fall and the holiday season that is fast approaching us. With just a few simple changes and ideas you can transform your living / dinning room for Halloween and the holidays.

A tablecloth is the first thing that changes everything in the room. To set the mood for fall think brown tones with maybe a little gold. This is something that you can have out now and will work throughout the holidays.  Other room changes ideas can be a mantel scarf, changing up your entry table, throw pillows and holiday slip covers for chairs. For fall I love a pop of green or lavender mixed in with the autumn colors.

For Halloween I have come up with a few new fabulous ideas just using simple black car felt that you can buy at Fabric Depot for only $5.99 a yard and seems to work perfect for all your Halloween needs! This felt works incredible for trick or treat bags, owls, bats, rats & crows! The felt is a heavy weight that makes is great for texture and durability.

I have also this year have decided to mix things up with my jack o lanterns. I usually like to make them with a twist and this year I am covering them with fabric! I have used some of the most beautiful fabric and hot glued it onto my plug in pumpkins. The transformation is amazing and looks incredible in the living room.
A fun tip with this idea is to match your curtains or color scheme within your house.
Gives Halloween and little elegance and sophistication!
   
As far as making costumes everything you need is at Fabric Depot for your little monster. Check out their faux fur ! This year I have designed Monster Pants, an Owl costume, Designer Witch with cape, purse and necklace! You can dress up any witch hat with just ½ yard of fabric for a color band or trim it with faux fur! Also take an old purse and cover it with faux fur to match. I love this look even after Halloween!
