With a land mass of 570,375 square miles, Alaska is the largest state, at one-fifth the size of the lower 48 states combined. From whale watching and zip lining to glaciers and the Great American Lumberjack show, Alaska is a scenic destination that offers something for everyone.

Cruising
A cruise is one of the best ways to experience Alaska. The average Alaskan cruise is 7-days, sailing roundtrip from Seattle to Vancouver or northbound/southbound between Anchorage and Vancouver. The Inside Passage, Gulf of Alaska or a combination of the two are the most popular itineraries. Nearly all itineraries include a variety of glacier areas, from the Hubbard Glacier and Tracy Arm to Glacier Bay National Park.

Cruise-Tour
Because the coastline is only 2 percent of the state, many cruise lines offer cruise-tours. This option provides travelers with an in-depth land and sea Alaskan experience. A cruise-tour typically adds 2 to 7 days to an itinerary. The most popular cruise-tour itinerary is the Mt. McKinley - Denali corridor.

When to Go
Cruise lines visit Alaska between May and September with weekly departures.

In September, AAA Arizona is hosting a Highroads with Dan Davis Alaska Cruise. This 7-night cruise includes accommodations aboard Holland America's ms Zaandam and will feature Glacier Bay National Park, Haines, Juneau, Ketchikan, Inside Passage and Vancouver. Cabins are available from $1,149* per person. AAA members receive benefits including: $50 off per person, a shipboard cocktail party, an exclusive group shore excursion, private onboard group activity and complimentary photo.

As the largest leisure travel agency in North America, AAA Travel can assist with your Alaska cruise or vacation planning to any destination. For more information, visit AAA.com/travel or call 1-877-731-3926.
