Glendale Glitters Means Holiday Fun the Entire Holiday Season

Glendale Glitters kicked off its award-winning holiday light display on Nov. 23-24 with a spectacular opening weekend of festivities. But if you missed the opening weekend, there is plenty of entertainment continuing through the month of December.
On Friday and Saturday evenings, Nov. 30-Dec.15, downtown Glendale will be aglow and Murphy Park will be filled with entertainment and holiday merriment! Each weekend has a special theme with all kinds of fun for all ages. Events take place 6-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday evenings. For more information, visit     www.glendaleaz.com/events or call 623-930-2299.

The Spirit of Giving Weekend - Nov. 30 - Dec. 1
Downtown Glendale will be aglow with 1.5 million lights as well as 'the spirit of giving' as we celebrate the generosity of spirit that the season brings Nov. 30-Dec. 1, from 6-10 p.m. both evenings.
The holidays are a time of generosity, so what would be more fitting than a whole weekend celebrating those giving back to the community? It'll do your heart good to get into the spirit of giving by learning about and paying tribute to those selfless organizations that make our community a better place to live.
Highlights include all the fun family activities that Glendale Glitters always brings, plus special celebration of and donation drives for worthy local charities and food banks. A special free showing of Dr. Seuss' The Lorax will play at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. each evening.

Winter Wonderland Weekend - Dec. 7-8
Won't it be nice to play in the snow without having to shovel your driveway? You won't need snow tires to head to downtown Glendale for Winter Wonderland Weekend, Dec. 7-8, from 6-10 p.m. each evening.
Winter Wonderland weekend will feature a children's snow field, so bring the mittens and sip hot cocoa, as you enjoy delightful winter fun not usually found in Arizona. The snowfield will allow kids the rare opportunity to create their own Frosty the Snowman.
Grab your blankets and enjoy a favorite holiday classic, Elf, showing on the big screen each night at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. More winter fun will include free make-and-take crafts, face-painting, Santa Claus and more children's entertainment, in addition to the regular horse-drawn carriages rides offered.
Jingle Bell Rockin' Nights - Dec. 14-15
Bring your dancing shoes for a rockin' good time in downtown Glendale on Dec. 14-15 and enjoy Jingle Bell Rockin' Nights for music, fun and excitement amid 1.5 million lights!
A festive mix of holiday songs and rock jams will get everyone off their feet and in the holiday spirit! Practice your moves to the tunes of some stellar musical performances, which will include Peppermint James performing in the park Friday and cover band Radio80s on Saturday.

The event will also feature holiday arts and crafts, delicious food and beverage including gourmet food trucks, horse-drawn carriages rides, inflatable rides and visits with Santa Claus. Bring your camera, or have Santa's helper snap one for a small fee.
The Glendale Glitters holiday display remains lit nightly through our finale event, Glendale Glitter & Glow on Jan. 12, from 4-10 p.m. Historic Downtown Glendale is located at 58th and Glendale avenues. Admission is free for all Glendale festivals.
