Alice Roach, owner of White Eyes Fresh Fry Bread, prepares two types of Indian fry bread.
1) Layla's Beignets with whipped honey butter
Frozen Fry Bread dough OR canned biscuit dough cut in long pieces
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 TBSP Cinnamon
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup honey
Combine cinnamon and sugars in a small paper bag. Fry dough in hot oil (at least 350 degrees), drain on paper towels. Add dough pieces to paper bag. Shake well to cover doughnuts. Remove doughnuts and place on a plate.
In small sauce pan mix 1/2 cup butter ir margarine 1/2 cup honey mix till it all melts together.
Drizzle honey butter on doughnuts and enjoy!
2) Red Chile
1 lb Stew meat or Chuck Roast. Cut in small pieces and cook
A) Season with Pepper, Minced Garlic
B) Handful of Chopped green onions
C) Chopped Cilantro (2 tbsp)
D) Baca Red chile
E) 2 tbls flour mixed with water for thickening. Let simmer for 1 hour
