From a schoolgirl crush to a silver anniversary, Valentine's Day is celebrated by young and old alike. While the holiday tends to be very commercial, showing your love doesn't have to be.

Dr. Lyndsay Elliott, Clinical Therapist, says surviving this holiday is as simple as quality time.

If you have been married for a while, Dr. Elliott says to first, think of some of your fondest memories together; where did you meet, first share a kiss or that you loved each other, maybe its where he proposed?  Dr. Elliott suggests going to that place and celebrate all the memories you've made since then, take photos and mementos from when you first fell in love.

If you have difficult schedules to coordinate, a simple quiet dinner together without cell phones, computers and other distractions is the perfect way to re-connect.  By focusing on each other you can build a stronger relationship and appreciate your commitment to each other.

You may think if you are newly married this holiday is easy, but Dr. Elliott says the opposite can happen.  While there is an abundance showing of love through bridal showers, engagement parties and a wedding, the importance of why you are together can get lost in the hustle and bustle of the planning.  Once again Dr. Elliott suggests an evening focusing on each other to re-ignite that spark, and be sure to pull out your sexy shoes and lingerie you received to add an extra spark to the evening.

Those of you in search of a sweetheart should not feel left out of this holiday.  Dr. Elliott says there are two ways for you to celebrate, first spend the night being selfish.  Grab a chick flick, or turn on some trash TV, grab a glass of wine and enjoy a bubble bath, or head out with your other single girlfriends and celebrate each other.

Remember, one day you will look back on having all this time to spend with your friends, and will miss it.
