Fundraiser for Healing Hearts Animal Rescue and Refuge

Healing Hearts Animal Rescue and Refuge is an organization that was established in 2005, taking in horses, dogs, cats, bunnies, cows, and pigs that have been abandoned, abused, or neglected. Theresa Dootson, Executive Director of the charity, shares an upcoming event that you can participate in to help these healing hearts find a home.

The 3rd Annual Fore the Animals *Hackers and Smackers* Golf Tournament will take place on April 3rd at Dove Valley Ranch Golf Club in Cave Creek. No golf experience is required, a variety of prizes will be distributed, and the cost to participate goes directly toward Healing Hearts since this charity runs soley on donations.

Dootson encourages everyone to participate and overall shares five important things that we all can do to help animals:

1. Always spay or neuter your pet to help reduce pet overpopulation of unwanted animals.
2. Volunteer at an animal rescue center.
3. Donate to an animal rescue
4. Always think "adoption" when you want to add a new pet to the family.
5. Microchip your animal so if they get lost they can be reunited with you quickly.
