Capriotti's Sandwich Shop is the idea of Lois Margolet in Wilmington Deleware over 30 years ago. She wanted to create a unique sandwich shop that captured the "real turkey lover" so she started oven roasting turkeys over night and the demand grew to roasting 12 or more turkeys a night. The same idea is still used today, Capriotti's Sandwich Shop still oven roasts and hand pulls the turkey everyday.
Something is new and fresh on the Capriotti's classic menu, salads. The first one is the Chopped Italian Salad which is crisp lettuce topped Genoa Salami, Capacolla Ham, Pepper Ham, Provolone Cheese, Garbanzo Beans, Black Olives, Tomatoes, and diced cucumbers. The second and still very tasty is the Black & Bleu Salad which is covered in Homemade Roast Beef that is roasted for 12 hours, Chopped Greens, Tomatoes, Diced Cucumbers, Sweet Peppers and Bleu Cheese Crumbles. The last is a Cap's Creation that lets you put a wide assortment of toppings on your salad, basically whatever your taste buds crave.
Mine still craves The Bobby but Capriotti's Sandwich Shop has a little comfort for everyone. I'm sure once you try it you will be regular that needs its "Bobby" fix on a weekly bases.
Want to win 35 years of sandwiches from Capriotti's? All you have to do is "LIKE" them on Facebook and show them your Cappy Dance. Let your friends and family vote and you could be enjoying heaven on a bun!
