Fall is a time to give thanks, and there's nothing to be more thankful for than produce and natural products that give us glowing skin. Ken Simpson, founder of Skin 2 Skin Care , knows this very well. He created his own line of beauty products out of necessity, after being diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2005.

After extensive research to find natural products that would not only protect his skin but also restore it he came up empty, so he created his own.

Simpson says essential fruit extracts deliver nutrients that are necessary for good skin health.

According to Simpson, in 2003 The American Association for Cancer Research found pomegranate fruit extract may help prevent skin cancer when used in creams and sunscreens. Simpson adds pomegranate it is a powerful antioxidant, that also has potent anti-inflammatory products that prevent chronic inflammation and are also vital to cell regeneration. Chronic inflammation is one of the main causes of premature aging.

Grapefruit also has some wonderful healing properties. Simpson says, 'grapefruit extract is a non-toxic ingredient that stops infection by helping to alkalize the skin which makes it extremely beneficial in the skins healing process.'

Acne can be caused by hormones, or bacterial infections and Simpson says grapefruit extract can reduce the bacterial growth and act as an astringent, naturally drying up extra oil reducing bacteria. Simpson says grapefruit also keeps pores clean which in turn reduces blackheads and pimples.

Apples and oranges are great in your mulling spices, but they also play a big role in your skins health. According to Simpson, orange extract can help smooth fine lines and wrinkles, stimulate new cell growth and replenish skin's moisture. Simpson goes on to say orange extract also controls chronic inflammation and detoxifies congested skin which can also help with acne. And if your skin needs a boost, he says it can also brighten dul skin and dark spots.

Simpson says apple extract is full of vitamins A and C and is primarily used for it's antioxidant and anti-aging properties. He goes on to say it also contains Zinc which helps control acne and heal wounds. This may be one you haven't heard of before, Simpson says it is relatively new and we are just now starting to see it in skin care products.

And don't think you have to put it on your skin, Simpson gives credence to the old addage 'an apple a day keeps the doctor away', saying it helps keep your skin looking younger as to all fruits and vegetables.
