Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation: Family-friendly event helps kids in foster care

Five gourmet food trucks, a dessert truck and an ice cream truck are getting together for a fun fundraising event.

The Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation will be presenting the inaugural Foodie Faire for Foster Care event from 12 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 21 at the Scottsdale Marriott at McDowell Mountains.

It's located at 16770 N. Perimeter Drive in Scottsdale.

Event attendees will enjoy dining choices from five gourmet food trucks, a dessert truck and ice cream truck.  The family-friendly event also offers children's activities, musical entertainment, and a silent auction benefiting the Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation (AFFCF).

AFFCF aims to promote the self-esteem and enrich the lives of Arizona's children in foster care by funding recreational, social, and educational opportunities such as participation in sports activities, swimming lessons, summer camps, tutoring and post-secondary scholarships.

Admission to Foodie Faire for Foster Care is $20 per person with children 12 and under admitted for free.  Food tickets are available at $8 each while (non-alcoholic) drink tickets are $3 each. A discounted ticket package is available for $50, which includes admission for one person, four food truck tickets, and one (non-alcoholic) drink or ice cream ticket.
