Stay stylish with trendy summer shades

The summer sun can be brutal, especially here in the Valley, so it's important to have a good pair of shades that not only protect your eyes, but keep you looking stylish as you head out to your gatherings.

With the styles constantly changing, it's hard to know what's in and what's out. 

Alyssa Young is a stylist with Solstice Sunglass Boutique. She shared a few tips to help us find the right styles for our face.

Young says you can't go wrong with bright colors, round shapes, cat eyes, temples with patterns and some of the classics like the traditional aviator. 

If you want to be go the uber-trendy route follow the celebs who have been spotted sporting Kate Spade cat eye sunglasses, while others stick to the classics from designers like Carrera.

When trying to determine a good style for your face, Young says a good rule of thumb is to find a shape the opposite of your face shape. So if your face is round look for square sunglasses, and if your face is square go round.
