With October marking Breast Cancer Awareness month, the Phoenix Mercury will be hosting one of their “Rock the Pink” nights on September 23.
“Rock the Pink” is a WNBA initiative to promote breast health awareness. The teams will don pink uniforms and host their own game day activities.
In honor of this special event, the Phoenix Mercury and the Breast Assured Foundation are looking to set the Guinness Book of World Records for the most mammograms done in eight hours at one location.
The mammograms and other festivities will begin at 8 a.m., taking place before, during and after the team hosts the Seattle Storm. Tip-off is set for 12 p.m.
Free and discounted mammograms are being offered. Mammograms are free for those with insurance, and for those without insurance they are only $100 (regularly $454).
