Get racy this weekend at a Phoenix event for a good cause.
Throw on your most outrageous underwear Saturday and grab your friends for this brief 5K event to expose the truth about colon cancer.
The Colon Cancer Alliance's 5th Annual Phoenix Undy 5000 5K run will be held at 9 a.m. at the State Capitol District to raise awareness to colon cancer, the second leading cause of cancer death in America.
Proceeds go to patient support, early screening and education efforts nationally and locally here in Arizona.
The Undy 5000 is a family-oriented 5K and fun run through the streets of downtown Phoenix and is unique in that participants are encouraged to come and run in their boxers and good taste "undies" as a fun way to raise awareness of this disease.
You can preregister online at UNDY5000.org and click on Phoenix. Save $10 by registering before 6 pm Thursday, November 15th.
Registrations can also occur on race day, on site beginning at 7:30 am. With your help, we can help keep 970 Arizonans from dying every year. That's 19 friends and neighbors every week dying from colorectal cancer.
Running in your underwear may seem silly, but whether you wear it on your head or over your clothes, we guarantee you won't forget why you did!
