PHOENIX -
Nearly two months ago, Indy’s owner put him in a wire dog crate and abandoned him without food or water. By dusk, Indy began to panic and he kept the neighborhood awake for two nights with his pleading meows. Eventually, a concerned neighbor peeked over the fence and saw Indy was trapped and called Emergency Animal Medical Technicians to rescue the orange tabby cat.

Dehydrated, hungry and scared, Indy nuzzled his whiskers in the arms of EAMTs and was then transported to the Arizona Humane Society and after being examined by medical staff he was put up on the adoption floor.

The 5-year-old has lived in a kennel since May 24 th and is becoming more depressed with each day he goes without a home. He may be middle-aged but he is still full of spunk and personality and he will dance and play when a ribbon is dangled above his head. While he can be frisky at times, he is mostly laid-back and affectionate and will happily perch on the lap of a cat fancier in order to soak up chin scratches and back rubs. His purr sounds like thunder and his whole body rumbles with delight when he is the center of attention.

Indy is available NOW at the Petique Retail and Adoption Center located at the Biltmore Fashion Park. Now until the end of August, as part of AHS’ Leave No Feline Behind campaign, all cat adoption fees will be waived in exchange for a monetary donation of any amount. All cats have been spayed or neutered and vaccinated prior to adoption. For more information about Indy call 602-957-3113 and ask for animal ID number A398398 .
