PHOENIX - Police departments across the Valley are warning St. Patrick's Day party-goers to stay sober on the roads -- or pay the price.

Anyone looking to celebrate the holiday is urged to line up a designated driver, as Valley police confirm they are planning DUI sweeps and checkpoints throughout the night.

To help you line up a safe ride, Discount Cab is offering a St. Patrick's Day freebie.

Anyone who is out celebrating at a local bar or restaurant can reserve a taxi for the end of the night, and through the company's "Free Ride Back" offer, can score a cab back to pick up their vehicle the next day free of charge.

Another option aimed at keeping Valley roads safe is AAA's "Tipsy Tow" program.

All you have to do is call 1-800-AAA-HELP, say you need a "Tipsy Tow", and a AAA truck will take you and your vehicle home for free. The only catch... the trip home is limited to 10 miles.
