PHOENIX - Pool cleaning just got “greener” in Arizona.
A Phoenix man has upgraded a robotic swimming pool cleaner that is powered by the sun. It’s called the “Solar-Breeze 2.0”.
“It just runs strictly on solar power," Denis Ruzsa , co-inventor of the Solar-Breeze and COO of Solar Pool Technologies said. "It runs around on the surface cleaning and capturing anything that floats on the surface whether its bugs, dust, debris, dog hair, even pollens and sun tan lotion.”
During the day, PC software controls the Solar-Breeze and directs it to areas with the most sunlight. The sun powers the motor and charges the battery at the same time for night use.
The company says Solar-Breeze 2.0 reduces energy bills by up to two-thirds and chemical usage by one-third.
“Ours is the only pool cleaner in the world that after you purchase it, it costs absolutely nothing to operate because it runs strictly on solar power,” Ruzsa said.
The Solar-Breeze 2.0 costs $499.
