PHOENIX - Friday, April 22nd is the 41st anniversary of Earth Day, a day to promote awareness and appreciation for the Earth's natural environment.

Ways to celebrate Earth:

Join Keep Phoenix Beautiful by celebrating the 41st anniversary of Earth Day on Thursday, April 21st from 11am to 1:30pm at Cesar Chavez Plaza , across from City Hall.

Keep Phoenix Beautiful is a non-profit organization working since 1982 to promote the preservation and protection of our environment. They dedicate their efforts to recycling, education, litter reduction, beautification, and community improvement activities.

At this event you will learn about recycling and sustainability. There will be over 75 exhibitors there. You'll also receive some take home giveaways.

Then on Friday, April 22nd, Keep Phoenix Beautiful will host a day of service at Cesar Chavez Plaza by planting trees and flowers.

Firesky Resort will be one of the 'Keep Phoenix Beautiful' exhibitors.  They will also have a "Lights Out" happy hour on Friday, April 22, with appitaizers and organic drinks at their resort.  While you're there, you can see all the ways they are making it easy to be environmentally friendly within their resort.

Earth911.com is also one of the exhibitors.  They teamed up with Sprint to launch Irecycle, a free app to download on your smart phone.  It has lots of great sustainability articles.  With the app, you can also find things in your house that are recyclable and places nearby where you can donate them.
