Winter mowing helps the yard grow stronger in spring

February is here and while you may not be thinking about your green yard quite yet, now is the perfect time to get it ready.

To get started, you need to dig out your lawn mower. Yes, it might seem too early to even think about mowing, guess again.

Here is the good news. All you have to do is mow once this month.

Lawn experts say the new grass will face a tough time if it has to fight with the brown grass for room.

When you mow, be sure to cut the grass to about two inches.

In addition to helping let the new grass grow, the early mowing will allow the soil temperature to warm up faster than the ground that was not cut.
