Creme Brulee is a common dessert at most restaurants any time of year, but you can make this favorite a holiday tradition in your home by adding the simple flavor of Gingerbread. Executive Chef Thomas Nasworthy from Carefree Station shares his recipe so you can create your new family favorite.
Gingerbread Crème Brulée
Ingredients:
1 quart heavy cream
1 ½ cups egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup sugar
1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground clove
1 ½ teaspoons ground ginger
1 teaspoon nutmeg
4 ounces molasses
Preparation:
Scald cream with all ingredients. Temper in egg yolks. Strain if necessary. Put in desired cooking dish. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and aluminum foil and bake in water bath at 225 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Remove from oven when the custard is firm.
