You never know what delights might be tucked away in the myriad of office complexes that dot the Valley.
Case in point is Glow Skin & Body Studio in Phoenix.
Take a drive just west of the bustling Ahwatukee Foothills shopping hub at I-10 and Ray Road and there you'll see it – the quiet and inconspicuous Mountain Park Professional Plaza. But walk through the doors of Glow Skin & Body and you're transported to an unexpected haven decked in warm hues and a healing vibe.
Owner and aesthetician Jessica Devilbiss created Glow from the ground up as a place that wraps guests in an air of comfort.
All facials are a full 90 minutes because Jessica believes that an hour isn't enough time to assess and respond to each client's skincare needs while also integrating relaxation techniques such as her signature hot towel foot treatment.
The entire staff is grounded in the belief that every treatment must be custom to each individual's needs to coax that coveted glow to the surface.
Atmosphere: Flanked by dark wood shelving with perfectly placed skincare products, the reception desk guards a softly lit hallway that leads to four private treatment rooms. A contemporary waiting area is peppered with tasteful hints of shabby chic centered by a comfy couch and flat-screen TV.
In the treatment rooms, you'll find beds draped in soft custom-monogrammed blankets with soothing nature motif accents and warm cafe latte hues. Plan to arrive early for your appointment so you can zone out to the tunes playing on the television and unwind before your treatment.
Services: The Glow service menu reads like a five-star restaurant.
The signature facials address every skin type with treatments such as the Facial Extraordinaire (selected by Allure magazine as a best facial treatment in 2000), Italian Herbal Detox RX and Paprika Exfoliating Facial. Other choices include oxygen facials, microdermabrasion, skin rejuvenation, body treatments, eyelash extensions, lash and brow tinting, waxing and special occasion makeup.
