Whitney Houston's death over the weekend shocked fans.

As a tribute to her career which spanned over 25 years, here are 10 of her most memorable songs:

1. " I Will Always Love You " (1992) – Though many fans remember this as Houston's signature song, it was actually penned by Dolly Parton. This song helped Houston win Grammys for Record of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal, and "The Bodyguard" won Album of the Year.

2. " Greatest Love of All " (1986) – According to information from About.com , this song spent three weeks at No. 1 on pop charts.

3. " How Will I Know " (1985) – This fun track help Houston prove she had it all: she could span genres from pop to contemporary to R&B and now dance.

4. " I Wanna Dance with Somebody " (1987) – Houston earned a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for this song, which debuted on pop charts at No.1.

5. " Didn't We Almost Have it All? " (1986) – This breakup song was nominated for a Grammy and spent several weeks on top of the pop charts.

6. " So Emotional " (1987) – This song was written for Houston by the musical geniuses behind Madonna's "Like a Virgin" and became the singer's sixth consecutive No. 1 hit.
