Creator and executive producer Shonda Rhimes has announced on her website that the "Grey's Anatomy" spin-off, which has already started its sixth season, will be wrapping up this year:
"I'm sad to say that 'Private Practice's' run will end after episode 613 this season," Rhimes wrote. "There was a lot of discussion and debate but, in the end, the guys at the network and the studio and I all decided that 'Private Practice' was reaching its finish line."
"Practice" launched in 2007, following Kate Walsh's Addison Montgomery to Los Angeles. The end of the series has been expected for some time, at least since Walsh announced this summer that she would not be returning beyond her 13-episode commitment for this season.
However, Walsh has also said that she wouldn't be opposed to stepping back into Addison's shoes. And now that her "Practice" is closing, it might be time for a return trip to "Grey's" Seattle Grace.
