PHOENIX - Ready for the return of your favorite ABC shows?
ABC revealed its primetime lineup for the fall and a new scheduling strategy at its upfront presentation in May, and the big premieres are fast approaching!
The network highlighted 13 new shows, and a Tuesday night lineup consisting entirely of those new shows, including “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” and Steven Spielberg’s “Lucky 7”, which tells the story of a group of down-on-their-luck gas station workers who win the lottery.
The shows will be rolled out in a new schedule that will eliminate repeat episodes during the season. The primary series will be shown in two 12-week periods, while the other shows will be played during a break between those two periods to eliminate downtime.
ABC will free up its Tuesday schedule by rolling the “Dancing with Stars” performance and results show into a single two-hour block on Mondays at 7 p.m.
The lineup will continue to be anchored by hits like “Scandal” and “Once Upon a Time”, the latter of which has spawned a spin-off series, “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland”, which will air on Thursdays at 7 p.m.
ABC also introduced several new shows to air during the mid-season break. Those shows include “Resurrection”, a show about the dead coming back to life in a small Missouri town, and “The Quest”, a reality adventure show from the producers of “The Lord of the Rings.”
The network also picked up “Toy Story of Terror”, a Disney Pixar TV special featuring the original cast of the “Toy Story” films. The special will air in October and feature a Halloween-themed, original story.
