There are four couples left with 15 dances to do on two nights on “Dancing with the Stars.”
On Monday night, the four remaining couples will perform three dances. Their first dance will be the judges’ choice: a reworked version of a routine they did earlier this season.
The judges picked routines they felt the couples could most improve on.
Next, the couples will all take part in a cha cha relay. They will all dance for a portion of the same song, one after the other.
Last, the couples will do what fans have been waiting for all season: the freestyle. This dance can make or break a star’s chances of winning, either rocking or flopping.
For their judges’ choice dance, Disney star Zendaya and Val must rework their samba from Week 4.
The possibility of four dances could push Zendaya past the breaking point because she has strep throat.
Zendaya tweeted, “thanks 4 the love twitterverse! gonna b fine...lots of germs running around and I must have caught a few...but I won't let it stop me!!”
Country singer Kellie Pickler and Derek must rework their quickstep from Week 6.
Olympian Aly Raisman and Mark must rework their samba from Week 5.
Aly tweeted, “Wow never rehearsed & practice so much in my life. Ten hour days everyday this week. So exhausted! Gooood night. I'm excited for tomorrow:).”
NFL star Jacoby Jones and Karina must rework their jive from Week 5.
Frankly, I thought he already did that dance again in Week 7 when he reworked it for that week’s dance-off.
How the four remaining couples perform Monday night will play out on Tuesday’s finale.
The lowest scoring couples will be eliminated in the first hour of the show.
In the second hour, the three remaining couples will perform an instant dance, in which they learn the song then will learn a pre-planned routine only minutes before performing it.
The judges will score it, which will then be added into Monday night’s judge scores and fan votes, determining who takes home the Mirrorball Trophy.
Who will win? Strep throat aside, I think Zendaya still has a pretty good chance, mostly due to her track record.
She’s been knocking it out of the park, week after week this season. On the other hand, she did hip hop last week, and it would be best if she avoids the same style for the freestyle, which limits her, because hip hop is the style she learned growing up.
Zendaya’s biggest competition to win is Kellie, mostly because Kellie has the secret weapon: the show’s best choreographer, Derek.
As for who goes home first out of the four, it will probably be either Aly or Jacoby, but we won’t be able to tell until we see how the first three dances play out. It’s actually a pretty evenly-matched final four.
Watch the competition 7 p.m. Monday with the final results show at 8 p.m. Tuesday on ABC15 .
