Jessica Simpson's most recent pregnancy wasn't exactly planned.
The celebrity mom made headlines over the holidays when she confirmed that she was expecting again, just months after she and her fiancé, Eric Johnson, welcomed their daughter Maxwell Drew in May.
"Apparently it was part of God's plan for my life, but I was extremely shocked," Simpson told Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show" Tuesday. "I was shocked because I was going through a lot of hormonal changes, trying to get back to the old vibrant Jessica, and you know, it was kind of like a one-night stand. And it happened all over again."
The 32-year-old singer/actress said that this baby is due in the summer, and it looks like he or she will arrive before a wedding does for the couple.
"We've had two different wedding dates, but he keeps knocking me up," Simpson said. "We're doing it very backwards, I know. I'll just keep my legs crossed I guess this time."
And as for Johnson's reaction to the surprise pregnancy news? "I think he was really proud of himself, actually," Simpson said.
