PHOENIX - This weekend, art and music lovers will have a chance to explore those worlds for free at two Phoenix museums.
Discover the most extraordinary museum you'll ever hear when you enter the Musical Instrument Museum and embark on a magical journey of sight and sound.
MIM is located in north Phoenix and is home to a collection of over 14,000 musical instruments, with 5,000 on display.
MIM offers a shared experience of the history of musical instruments throughout the world.
See and feel the vibes of instruments played by music icons, including John Lennon, Paul Simon, The Black Eyed Peas, Eric Clapton, and many more.
New this weekend: Elvis Presley, the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, will join the ranks of other distinguished musicians as the Artist Gallery reopens August 6. The new exhibit, Elvis Presley: Three Decades of the King, includes a rich selection of Elvis’s musical instruments, clothing, personal items, and other significant artifacts from his illustrious career.
Bank of America's " Museums on Us " program offers free access to cardholders at the MIM and the Phoenix Art Museum Saturday, August 6, and Sunday, August 7. The offer also includes the Tucson Museum of Art and Historic Block in Tucson. The program includes free general admission to 150 museums nationwide for Bank of America customers on the first full weekend of every month.
