PHOENIX - Chicanos Por La Causa is holding an event Friday night to benefit its De Colores Domestic Violence Shelter.
The annual benefit dance will start at 6 p.m. at the Legacy Reception Center located at 130 N. 35th Avenue in Phoenix.
The event supports the shelter, which CPLC says “provides a safe and secure environment, where families can recover from the devastating effects of domestic violence, as they acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to become independent and break the cycle of violence.”
CPLC says it costs approximately $30 a day per bed to operate the shelter and provide services.
The group hopes to raise money to help more women and children caught up in domestic violence.
Tickets are just $15 per person at the door.
The event includes Mexican food, music and prizes.
