PHOENIX - After living in Switzerland for nearly two decades, Tina Turner is making preparations to become a Swiss citizen.
The AFP reports that the 73-year-old legend is poised to soon receive Swiss citizenship, and will in turn give back her U.S. citizenship.
As a resident of a town called Kuesnacht in northern Switzerland, Turner has reportedly passed a local civics test as well as an interview. She still awaits approval from the canton of Zurich and federal authorities before she can claim her Swiss passport, the AFP says.
"I'm very happy in Switzerland and I feel at home here," Turner, who's been living there since 1995, has said. "I cannot imagine a better place to live."
