PLANO, TX - Randy Travis, although still in critical condition, is awake, alert and improving daily, his doctors said Monday according to The Los Angeles Times.
The country star was reportedly put on life support July 8 for what was revealed as “idiopathic cardiomyopathy, ” said Dr. Gary Erwin of the Heart Hospital Baylor Plano, where Travis is staying, in a press conference.
As for now, the 54-year-old is interacting with his friends and family and starting to engage in early physical therapy, according to the LA Times .
Travis is likely to remain in the Plano hospital for another two to three weeks but his treatment will reportedly continue for months after.
